Quinta do Vale da Páscoa, also known as Ecoaldeia do Vale, is a pioneering sustainable tourism and agriculture project nestled in the green heart of Portugal in Póvoa de Midões, Tábua (Beiras region). Run by Dutch couple Karin Immerzeel and Jan van Loon, the quinta operates as a luxury B&B under the name Quinta Vale Porcacho, seamlessly integrating ecological hospitality with comprehensive organic farming practices. The property is distinguished by its unique ecological infinity swimming pool, offering spectacular views over the valley. The water remains crystal-clear through natural biological filtration processes, providing guests with a genuinely pure nature experience. Accommodation options include comfortable guest rooms and a nature cottage, each designed with comfort, privacy, and sustainability in mind. Sustainability is embedded in every aspect of operations — from building practices and daily management to agricultural techniques. The quinta maintains a large vegetable garden, diverse fruit and nut trees, vineyards producing red and white grapes for their own wine, and olive groves supplying their own olive oil. This working farm model allows guests to witness and participate in regenerative agriculture firsthand. Strategically located between Lisbon and Porto, the quinta serves as an ideal base to explore authentic rural Portugal, the Serra da Estrela mountain range, and the Mondego valley. Beyond individual stays, the property accommodates groups of up to 20 people for multi-day training sessions, management conferences, coaching retreats, and intimate celebrations. The owners actively seek volunteer support during peak agricultural seasons, creating meaningful opportunities for visitors to engage with sustainable farming and learn about ecological principles in a real-world setting. Through its integrated approach combining hospitality, agriculture, education, and community, Quinta do Vale da Páscoa demonstrates how rural properties can thrive economically while upholding genuine ecological values.
