Casa das Palmeiras is a sustainable rural tourism farmhouse in Gandufe, Mangualde, featuring a pedagogical farm, animal-assisted experiences, and family-oriented activities in the Serra da Estrela.
Casa das Palmeiras is a family-run rural tourism project located in Gandufe, Mangualde, in the Serra da Estrela region of Portugal. Originally a working farm belonging to the owner's great-grandfather, it has been transformed into a rural tourism destination centered on sustainability, nature connection, and family experiences. The property features several houses (such as Casa do Carvalho and Casa do Celeiro), a pedagogical farm with friendly animals, an organic vegetable garden (horta bio), an aromatic garden, a biological pool, and an enchanted forest area. Guests can enjoy a range of nature-based experiences, including pony rides, personalized tours by Tuk Tuk or classic Citroën 2CV, equicoaching (horse-assisted personal development), EquusKids activities for families to learn about horse communication, sensory massage in nature, and traditional rural programs such as the Shepherd Program, the Serra da Estrela Cheese Program, the Goat Cheese Program, and the Olive Oil Program. The farm emphasizes accessible and inclusive tourism, aiming to provide quality-of-life experiences for all visitors. Sustainability is a core value, reflected in the harmonious relationship promoted between humans, animals, and nature throughout the property. Amenities include private parking, bicycles, free Wi-Fi, meal delivery, and laundry service. The project is registered under RNET No. 7013 and positions itself as a peaceful refuge for families and animal lovers seeking an authentic, screen-free countryside experience in central Portugal.

To offer sustainable, family-friendly rural tourism in the Serra da Estrela region, combining accommodation with a pedagogical farm, animal-assisted experiences, and respect for nature and local traditions.
