Transitar is a pioneering Portuguese environmental association that brings internationally recognised sustainability training programs — such as Climate Fresk and Biodiversity Collage — to companies, schools, and communities. For every corporate training delivered, an equivalent free session is offered to schools or associations.

Transitar is a Portuguese non-profit environmental association based in Lisbon, dedicated to the collective and informed mobilisation of the population around environmental causes. It was the first organisation in Portugal to introduce and adapt globally recognised sustainability training programs, including the Climate Fresk (Mural do Clima), the Biodiversity Collage (Mural da Biodiversidade), and the 2 Tonnes Serious Game. These immersive, collaborative workshops — grounded in scientific evidence — help participants understand the root causes and consequences of climate change and biodiversity loss, and translate that understanding into concrete personal and collective action. At the heart of Transitar's model is a distinctive social impact commitment: for every corporate training session delivered, the organisation provides an equivalent free training to a school or association. This approach ensures that access to environmental education is democratised and extends well beyond the commercial sector. The organisation has contributed to a global network of over 100,000 trained facilitators and more than 2.3 million workshop participants worldwide. In Portugal, Transitar has facilitated over 150 workshops and training sessions, building a growing community of facilitators, partners, and engaged citizens across sectors. Transitar also supports businesses in aligning their teams with sustainability goals through team-building experiences that combine science, strategy, and purpose. Their work spans schools, universities, corporations, and civil society organisations, and they maintain a network of more than 20 specialist consultants covering circular economy, climate change, biodiversity, sustainable food, and mental health. Individuals can engage with Transitar by attending workshops, becoming certified facilitators, joining as members, or volunteering — making environmental action accessible to all.

Our Goal

Transitar aims to collectively mobilise and educate the Portuguese population on environmental challenges — particularly climate change and biodiversity loss — through science-based, interactive training experiences for companies, schools, and civil society.

Our Wishes

Transitar welcomes new facilitators, volunteers, and partner organisations who want to help scale environmental education across Portugal and beyond.
