Local and seasonal produce in Portugal

Portugal exports a great deal of what it grows and imports a great deal of what it eats, often the same vegetable in the same week. The projects here shorten that loop: a farm, a box, a pick-up point, a neighbourhood.

Quinta do Arneiro packs weekly boxes out of Mafra. Atelier Terra Viva grows certified organic vegetables in Baião. Colmeia Cooperativa da Terra buys collectively for the Alentejo and Rizoma runs the same logic from a Lisbon storefront. Fruta Feia sells the crooked produce the supermarkets refuse.
