Electrão collects 19% more e-waste in first half of 2025

Electrão collected and sent for recycling more than 24,000 tonnes of used electrical equipment in the first half of the year, 19% more than the same period in 2025, the entity announced. The growth followed an expansion of its collection network, now with around 18,000 points, including 860 new sites added since the start of the year. Solar panel collection rose sharply, to 3,356 tonnes from 213 tonnes, linked to storm damage in central Portugal. Electrão also offers free door-to-door collection of large appliances in 14 municipalities around Lisbon and the Oeste region.
