Energy regulator proposes 1.5% electricity price rise for regulated-market households from January 2027
Portugal's energy regulator, ERSE, has proposed raising regulated-market low-voltage electricity prices by 1.5% from January 2027, affecting about 780,000 customers on mainland Portugal. A childless couple with a 3.45 kVA contract would pay roughly 54 cents more a month, around 38.31 euros, while a family of four on 6.9 kVA would pay about 1.28 euros more, near 99.01 euros. The change follows an extraordinary rise of about 2.7% in October. The 33.8% social tariff discount continues. The figures are provisional: the tariff council must give its opinion, and ERSE has until 15 December to publish final prices.
