Paredes schools host two days of environment and climate events

Topicsenvironmental literacy

The fifth Jornadas do Ambiente takes place on 22 and 23 October, run by Paredes town council with the Daniel Faria school cluster in Baltar. It opens on Thursday 22 at 10:30 with a conference on sustainability and climate action at Escola Secundária Daniel Faria, covering forest schooling, cycling as sustainable mobility and the nature protection service. The same day, an eco-fair brings together the municipal water utility, the animal shelter, Parque das Serras do Porto and several associations, alongside two exhibitions. Workshops on local geology, composting and healthy, sustainable eating follow in the cluster's schools and kindergartens. In May, the council's Environment Week involved 40 Eco-Escolas.
