Portuguese biogas association adds three biomethane producers

The Portuguese Bioenergy Producers Association (APPB) has admitted three new biomethane producers as full member companies: FERBGÁS Renováveis, Hyperion Renewables and Prado Energia. Law firm Morais Leitão joins as a partner associate, marking the association's first legal-sector member. APPB's secretary-general, Jaime Braga, said the new members strengthen the group's ability to represent national bioenergy producers. For 2026, APPB's priorities include defending producers' interests as Portugal transposes the EU's RED III renewables directive and implementing the national biomethane market plan, which it says could cut gas dependence in industries such as ceramics and glass.
