The 17th UN biodiversity conference opens in Yerevan, Armenia, on 19 October and runs until 30 October. International biodiversity funding has averaged 4.4 billion dollars a year, under a quarter of the 20 billion goal. Environmental group ZERO sets out seven demands, including a subsidy-reform timetable and a working Cali Fund. It says Portugal's draft nature restoration plan has funding and marine-target gaps and no inventory of harmful subsidies.
