Tiago Ferreira

Tiago Ferreira, known as "the Rapaz", is the founder and farmer behind Rapaz da Quinta, based in Leça do Balio. He studied Sports Science and later earned a master's in Physical Education Teaching, but chose to return to his family's roots in farming instead. Rejecting conventional, chemical-intensive agriculture, he embraced organic farming out of respect for future generations, growing seasonal vegetables, fruit, aromatic herbs, mushrooms and artisanal bread. Tiago is supported by family and friends, and holds a particular fascination for bees and seed preservation.
