Casas da Levada

Casas da Levada is a family-run agritourism property in Ponta do Pargo, on the west coast of Madeira. It started as a small country retreat and now has six houses: Casa da Cascata, Casa da Horta, Casa dos Pereiros, Casa da Vaca, Casa da Bica and Casa do Pastor. Each has its own layout and private outdoor space, with views over the Atlantic Ocean, the gardens or the pool. There's also the Hobbit Bar, a fairy-tale-style building with a green roof and a cosy interior. The property makes its own cider, Sidra Endémica, from apples grown in its orchard in Ponta do Pargo, using traditional production methods. Permaculture and sustainability guide both the design of the spaces and the day-to-day running of the place. The project has made an explicit commitment to balance the needs of guests, the local community and future generations. The buildings follow traditional architecture and use locally sourced materials. Casas da Levada also offers yoga classes, healing ceremonies, boat trips, canyoning and coasteering, bird and cetacean watching, jeep safaris and stand-up paddleboarding.
