CORE Sustentare

CORE Sustentare is an independent, science-driven consultancy specialising in ESG strategy, sustainability reporting and corporate social responsibility. Formed as an alliance between CORE — a non-governmental development organisation (ONGD) of public utility founded in 2013 — and Sustentare, partners since 2015 who joined forces formally in 2022, the organisation combines two decades of cumulative experience in sustainability, ethics and corporate social responsibility consulting. With offices in Lisbon and Santarém, and a delegation in Maputo, Mozambique, CORE Sustentare works with organisations across all industries — including banking, payments, hospitality and retail — to help them assess ESG risks and opportunities, build compliant reporting frameworks (GRI, CSRD, ESRS, VSME), and implement digital tools such as their Relay platform to reduce manual reporting work. Notable clients include SIBS, Banco BPI, Real Hotels Group, Galp and KLX Group. The organisation follows a three-phase methodology: assessing an organisation's current situation through double materiality analysis, planning a clear and measurable ESG roadmap, and supporting implementation with training and measurable data. Beyond corporate consulting, CORE Sustentare produces educational content, including articles, guides and a podcast exploring sustainability regulation, ESG reporting standards and equity initiatives. With over 12 years of experience, more than 50 projects completed and operations across Portugal, Mozambique and the wider EU, CORE Sustentare positions itself as a bridge between regulatory compliance and genuine organisational transformation towards more sustainable, equitable and transparent practices.
