GRACE – Empresas Responsáveis is a leading Portuguese business association dedicated to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability. Founded in 2000 by a group of companies, mostly multinationals, it holds public-benefit status and operates as a non-profit organisation. GRACE supports more than 380 associated companies on their sustainability journeys, helping them transition from intention to concrete action through practical projects, training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
As a member of CSR Europe, the leading European network on corporate sustainability, GRACE connects Portuguese businesses to global best practices and trends in responsible business conduct. Its activities span a wide range of ESG-related themes, including inclusive recruitment, mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, circular economy strategies, sustainability reporting, social impact assessment, diversity and inclusion, and the ethical and legal implications of artificial intelligence in organisations.
GRACE regularly organises certified training programmes, in-person workshops and large-scale events, such as its biennial Congress, bringing together associated and non-associated companies, subject-matter experts and partner organisations. It has also launched the 'Casa Portuguesa da Sustentabilidade', a dedicated space to showcase transformative ESG projects, stories and best practices from Portuguese companies, aiming to inspire collective action towards a more responsible future.
Through its network, GRACE also mobilises corporate solidarity campaigns, such as back-to-school donation drives supporting students in need across the country, reinforcing its role as a bridge between the private sector and social causes. The association is headquartered in Lisbon and continues to expand its reach, currently followed by nearly 15,000 people on LinkedIn, reflecting its established position as a reference point for corporate responsibility in Portugal.
