Jinja is a Porto-based sustainable design brand founded in 2012 by Norma Silva, creating handmade home products from reused industrial textile waste. Its creative process is guided by circular economy principles, combining good design with ecological responsibility.

Jinja is a Portuguese sustainable design brand founded in Porto in 2012 by designer Norma Silva. The brand is built on a clear ecological mission: to transform industrial textile waste into beautiful, functional handmade home products. Jinja's collections include a wide variety of items such as bowls, baskets, boxes, table accessories, vases, lamps, and side tables — all crafted with care and a commitment to sustainability. At the core of Jinja's philosophy is the concept of circular economy. By sourcing discarded materials from industry as its primary raw material, Jinja reduces waste and gives new life to what would otherwise be thrown away. The brand strives to use all other materials as ecologically as possible, continuously seeking to improve and innovate in its approach to sustainable production. Beyond its standard collections, Jinja also offers tailored services, adapting products to individual client needs. This personalised approach reflects the brand's belief that sustainable design should also be inclusive and accessible. Jinja's vision is to share pleasant daily rituals with its customers — products that accompany them in their routines while contributing to a healthier planet. Jinja is present in curated concept stores and sustainable retail platforms across Portugal, including Depozito, where it features a collection developed especially for the space. The brand represents the growing movement of Portuguese designers and makers who are proving that aesthetics and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. Through conscious consumption and artisanal craftsmanship, Jinja continues to demonstrate that waste can be a resource, and that beautiful design can be a vehicle for positive environmental change.
