Circular Economy Portugal is a non-profit association that promotes the transition to a circular economy in Portugal through capacity-building, projects on reuse and repair, and collaborative action with businesses, government, and civil society.
Circular Economy Portugal (CEP) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to stimulating the transition to a circular economy across Portugal, working towards a society without waste. The organisation develops and implements projects in waste prevention, promoting reuse, sharing, and the valorisation of resources. It also provides consultancy, helping businesses and government bodies adopt circular strategies, and supports a network of 'Circular Pioneers' — entrepreneurs at the forefront of the circular economy movement.
CEP organises major events such as the Reuse Portugal Summit, a national gathering bringing together policymakers, companies, municipalities, academia, and civil society to discuss concrete solutions for accelerating the reuse economy. The organisation also runs community initiatives like Repair Textil workshops at local circular markets, and raises public awareness around key sustainability indicators such as Earth Overshoot Day and Portugal's Deficit Day.
Through training, articles, and public communication, CEP translates circular economy principles into concrete solutions aimed at creating social and ecological value. The organisation collaborates with international networks such as Zero Waste Europe and ECOS (Environmental Coalition on Standards), reinforcing its role in the wider European movement toward resource justice and zero waste. With a strong presence on social media and over 16,000 LinkedIn followers, CEP continues to inspire and empower public entities, companies, and organisations to adopt circular strategies for a more resilient and regenerative future.
