Mushroom Compadres

Mushroom Compadres is a mushroom cultivation project based in Rogil, in the West Algarve region of Portugal. Born from friendship, music and a shared desire to cultivate something meaningful, the project is rooted in regenerative agriculture and community values. The team grows specialty and functional mushrooms and transforms dried fruiting bodies into potent double-extracted tinctures, using a 1:8 ratio of mushroom to solvent (alcohol and water), preserving the full spectrum of beneficial compounds. Their product range includes functional mushroom tinctures such as Reishi Balance, alongside mushroom-infused coffee and cacao, all grown and harvested in Portugal and lab-tested for quality. Guided by the mission to bridge ancient wisdom of adaptogens with modern wellness needs, Mushroom Compadres frames its work around themes of focus, sleep, clarity, immune defence, anti-stress support and gut health. The project emphasises soil regeneration as part of its farming philosophy, positioning mushroom cultivation as a tool not only for producing food and medicine but also for restoring ecological balance. With a strong community-facing identity summed up in their motto '#WeGrowTogether', the project has built a large following on social media, sharing educational content about functional mushrooms and hosting events to connect with local and international communities, including appearances in Lisbon.
