Ninho do Guarda-Rios

Ninho do Guarda-Rios is a living sanctuary in the central Algarve offering horse-assisted embodiment and heart-coherence sessions.
Ninho do Guarda-Rios is a living sanctuary where land, animals and presence remind visitors of what was never truly lost. Located in Vale Fuzeiros, central Algarve, near Silves, it is part of 'A Regeneration Project', dedicated to the regeneration of self, community and our relationship with nature. Here, natural rhythms, simplicity and deep listening are honoured, allowing the wisdom that emerges when we slow down to be fully experienced.
At the heart of the sanctuary is Totem, a horse whose presence invites authentic connection with animals, the body and the living intelligence of nature. Through embodiment practices, heart coherence work and sessions of Multidimensional Felt Sensing with horse assistance, guests are guided into deep reconnection with what is essential.
The space is described simply as a place to breathe, to feel and to remember — a nest for those ready to come home to themselves. Visitors are welcomed as they are, with sessions bookable directly through the project. The sanctuary blends elements of nature connection, animal-assisted healing and contemplative retreat, positioning itself less as a conventional wellness centre and more as a quiet, regenerative refuge for individuals and community alike.
While concrete details such as founding date, size and team structure are not published, the tone and content of the project's communications point to an intimate, small-scale initiative rooted in relationship — with the land, with animals, and with the people who visit seeking stillness, embodiment and reconnection with nature's living intelligence.
Our Goal
To offer a living sanctuary in the central Algarve dedicated to the regeneration of self, community and our relationship with nature, through deep connection with land, animals and natural rhythms.
Our Wishes
The project welcomes visitors seeking stillness, embodiment practices and reconnection with nature, and invites people to book horse-assisted sessions and shared presence experiences.
