Ninho do Guarda-Rios

Ninho do Guarda-Rios is a living sanctuary in Vale Fuzeiros, near Silves in the central Algarve, where guests work with a horse called Totem. Sessions combine embodiment practices, heart coherence work and Multidimensional Felt Sensing with horse assistance. They're meant to reconnect people with animals, with their own bodies and with what the project calls the living intelligence of nature. The sanctuary is part of "A Regeneration Project", which is dedicated to the regeneration of self, of community and of people's relationship with nature. The emphasis is on natural rhythms, simplicity, deep listening and what comes from slowing down. The project describes the place as somewhere to breathe, to feel and to remember. It mixes nature connection, animal-assisted healing and contemplative retreat, and it's closer to a quiet refuge for individuals and the community than to a conventional wellness centre. Visitors are welcomed as they are, and sessions can be booked directly with the project. The founding date, size and team structure haven't been published. The tone and content of what the project does publish suggest an intimate, small-scale initiative built on relationships with the land, with the animals and with the people who come looking for stillness, embodiment and reconnection with nature.
