Oasis dos 3 Sobreiros (also known as Oasis des 3 Chênes) is a permaculture garden and eco-living project in São Francisco da Serra, Portugal, offering nature immersions, wild plant foraging courses, and guidance for people building their own eco-places.

Located in Cruz de João Mendes, São Francisco da Serra, in the Santiago do Cacém municipality of southern Portugal, Oasis dos 3 Sobreiros (branded internationally as Oasis des 3 Chênes) is a long-standing eco-place built around permaculture, a living garden, and a fruit forest. The project has existed since at least the early 2010s, being referenced in academic research on neo-rural settlement in Portugal and in alternative community publications. Run principally by Murielle Lekien, the project offers immersive nature and plant-based stays and training courses covering wild edible and medicinal plants, permaculture garden design, and practical skills for building autonomy. Through a podcast series titled "Oasis des 3 Chênes", the founder shares stories about regenerating land, harvesting wild plants respectfully, producing homemade olive oil, and manifesting a dream eco-place into reality. The site serves as both a living demonstration of permaculture principles and an educational hub for people who wish to leave conventional lifestyles behind, become more self-sufficient, and either join or create their own biodiversity oasis. Free ebooks are offered covering how to start a permaculture vegetable garden and the first steps for launching an eco-place project. The overarching philosophy centres on being a guardian of the Earth, contributing to a network of preserved ecosystem "bubbles", and helping others transform their vision of a different way of living into a concrete, thriving reality.

Our Goal

To live in greater self-sufficiency on a permaculture-based eco-place and to help other people transform their own dream of a different lifestyle into a concrete, thriving eco-place.

Our Wishes

The project welcomes people interested in joining nature and plant immersions, permaculture training, or connecting with others building their own biodiversity oases.
