Over the Edge Farm

Nestled in the heart of the Alentejo in southern Portugal, Over the Edge Farm is a 30-hectare off-grid eco-retreat where a free-roaming herd of horses serves as both inspiration and co-inhabitants. Founded by Nayana Morag, the farm operates at the intersection of land regeneration, natural horsemanship, holistic wellness, and artisan aromatics. The farm harvests and distils an abundance of wild aromatic plants native to the landscape — including cistus and green lavender — to produce hydrosols, essential oils, natural soaps, and fragrant sprays. These handcrafted products are sold online and wholesale, generating income that directly supports the horses and the farm's land regeneration efforts. Signature offerings include the Alentejo Aroma Disk, Cistus Hydrosol, and Green Lavender Hydrosol. Visitors can join distillation sessions to learn the alchemical process of making plant medicine, meet the horses on their own terms in a natural, unstructured environment, or design a personalised re-set retreat combining meditative nature walks, good food, and time with the herd. For more experienced meditators, silent retreats of up to 21 days are available in simple on-site cabins, supported by nature's silence and unobtrusive care from the farm team. Operating entirely off-grid, the farm offers a genuine escape from electronic over-stimulation, inviting guests to slow down, reconnect with themselves and the natural world, and experience the wild essence of the Portuguese countryside.
