Quinta da Comenda is a historic agro-wine farm in São Pedro do Sul, Portugal, pioneering organic agriculture since 1987 and offering rural tourism accommodation, nature activities, and organic produce markets.

Quinta da Comenda is a historic agro-wine farm located in São Pedro do Sul, in central Portugal, with deep historical roots as the former Casa-Mãe da Comenda de Ansemil. The property has been practicing certified organic agriculture since 1987 — over 35 years — making it one of Portugal's pioneers in ecological farming. Its approach strictly avoids synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilisers, aiming to protect soil, water, and air quality while producing healthy, uncontaminated food. The quinta offers rural tourism accommodation across three independent guesthouses — Casa da Fonte (three rooms), Casa da Bica (two rooms), and Casa da Tuia (a studio and interior bedroom) — each with private bathrooms and access to a shared lounge with fireplace and kitchen. The property is in the process of obtaining sustainable tourism certification, reflecting its ongoing commitment to responsible business practices. Guests and visitors can engage in a variety of on-site activities including nature photography, hiking trails, winery visits, and weekly Saturday organic produce markets (10h–13h). The quinta also hosts cultural events such as live music concerts, wine tastings, and wedding celebrations, and has a function room with capacity for up to 50 people. Quinta da Comenda is an active participant in the São Pedro do Sul Bio-Region network, contributing to local agroecological development and community resilience.
