Quinta da Vida Beleza

Quinta da Vida Beleza is a cob ecovillage in Atalhada, Lagoa, on São Miguel Island in the Azores, founded in January 2020. Its hand-built cob bungalows and shared community spaces stand on fruit-filled land, all with ocean views, and the sea is a short walk away. The Quinta offers a retreat for simple living and reconnecting with the land. The ecovillage is also an education centre. It hosts natural building workshops, including advanced cob construction courses run in partnership with CruzinCobGlobal, where participants learn to build community spaces from foundation to roof using traditional earthen techniques. As well as construction, the Quinta emphasises hands-on learning, sustainable living practices and community connection. Visitors can stay, volunteer or study natural building methods first-hand. The project is run with a strong focus on self-sufficiency, natural materials and low-impact living.
