Tinctória Natural

Tinctória Natural turns agro-food bio-waste into sustainable natural paints and dyes for decorative and artistic use. Based in Vimieiro, Alentejo, it is a circular-economy project founded by Conceição Pires. It combines botanical dyeing, artistic practice and teaching, and its learning sessions are meant to reconnect participants with nature, memory and the present moment. The activities include: - hands-on workshops and courses, in person and online, on ancestral dyeing techniques - educational programmes for children, who make natural colours from flowers, vegetables and leaves - team-building sessions for groups, combining nature, creativity and cooperation - retreats built around botanical harvesting, natural paint production and sensory writing, where participants are invited to slow down and work to the rhythm of nature Online, the project runs “Tribo da Tinctória”, an exclusive community where artisans, artists and natural-colour enthusiasts exchange ideas, inspire one another and deepen their connection to nature through art. There's also an online shop selling materials, kits and handmade pieces inspired by slow, natural craftsmanship. The atelier is in a converted building in a calm setting close to nature, near Montemor-o-Novo. Inside are a laboratory and atelier for extracting dyes, plus multipurpose teaching rooms. Outside there's a garden, and harvesting areas are within easy reach. The space suits small groups working in artistic or educational settings.
