Eco-friendly products from Portugal
Portugal makes a lot of things well and quietly: cork, textiles, ceramics, soap, olive oil. The producers here start from that industrial base rather than from an imported green concept, Some are old factories doing something new.
Sugo handweaves rugs from cork in Santa Maria da Feira. ECOVEST manufactures eco-textiles in Vila do Conde. Leafclean makes Ecolabel-certified cleaning products in Faro, Hippocampus makes soap in Tavira, and Mind the Trash and Maria Granel sell the results without packaging in Lisbon.
