Floene and Mota-Engil chiefs urge action on renewable gases at Lisbon energy forum
The 14th Fórum Energia takes place on 23 and 24 November at the LNEC Congress Centre in Lisbon, with decarbonising the gas network and the biomethane market among its main themes. Floene's CEO, Gabriel Sousa, says renewable gases are central to Portugal's 2030 targets and that projects now need urgency and concrete solutions. Mota-Engil Ambiente e Energia's CEO, Hugo Pereira, notes that his company's biomethane plants have started operating this year. The biomethane action plan aims for the gas to replace 9.1% of natural gas consumption by 2030, and the panels will discuss licensing, regulation, new production incentives and shared grid-connection costs.
