Arambha Eco Village is a permaculture project and intentional community on Madeira Island, Portugal, founded in 2019, combining regenerative land practices, reforestation, and agritourism. It features Superadobe dome structures, guided tours, workshops, and retreats.

Arambha Eco Village is a regenerative land project and permaculture community located in Tabua, Madeira Island, Portugal. Established in 2019, Arambha was founded as both a permaculture demonstration site and an agritourism enterprise, offering a living example of sustainable and regenerative living in one of Portugal's most biodiverse island environments. The project is built around core principles of permaculture design, reforestation, and ecological construction. Its distinctive Superadobe domes — crafted from a natural mixture of lime, sand, and gravel — are designed for longevity and healthy indoor climates, reflecting a deep commitment to natural building techniques. These structures serve not only as living and gathering spaces but also as educational models of low-impact, earth-based architecture. Arambha actively engages the wider community through guided tours, hands-on workshops, and immersive retreats, making regenerative land practices accessible to visitors from across the world. The project's Barefoot School component underlines its educational mission, offering nature-based learning experiences rooted in ecological literacy and practical sustainability skills. Reforestation is a central pillar of Arambha's work, with ongoing efforts to restore native plant species and increase biodiversity on the land. The project integrates agroforestry and food forest design principles, creating productive ecosystems that support both community food sovereignty and habitat restoration. Situated at Caminho do Pico Ferreiro, Tabua, Arambha welcomes individuals, families, and groups interested in experiencing and contributing to a living model of ecological and community resilience. Whether through a guided tour, a workshop, or a longer retreat, Arambha offers meaningful opportunities to connect with nature, learn regenerative skills, and participate in a growing movement for sustainable living on Madeira Island.
