Environmental Waves specialises in water, wastewater and air treatment, with a focus on sustainability and the conservation of natural resources. Based in Póvoa de Varzim, the company has developed its own technologies, NatureWaves®, SonicWaves® and O3Waves®, for a wide range of environmental uses.
Environmental Waves (ewaves.pt), trading as "Water Intelligence", is a Portuguese technology company working on the treatment, conservation and sustainable management of natural resources. It is based in Póvoa de Varzim. The company invests in advanced technologies and in strategic partnerships to tackle environmental problems.
Its solutions cover three areas: water, wastewater and air. On the water side, it offers technologies to eliminate microalgae, cyanobacteria and Legionella, as well as rainwater filtration, disinfection and automated management. It also offers technologies for swimming pool water treatment, ozone water application in agriculture and natural pool systems.
For wastewater, there are systems for the safe reuse of greywater and bathwater, car wash water recycling, natural wastewater treatment, wine wastewater treatment and the processing of organic residues. Air quality work covers the elimination of Legionella and fungus.
Three of its technologies are proprietary: NatureWaves®, SonicWaves® and O3Waves®. The company also operates in Angola, and wants to take its water work beyond Portugal.
Environmental Waves is a member of the Portuguese Water Hub and has received industry recognition for its innovations.
