Ericas is a Portuguese company that handcrafts pet toys from 100% natural heather roots using traditional artisan methods. The toys are durable and chemical-free, made for dogs, puppies and small rodents with both the animals' wellbeing and the environment in mind.
Ericas makes pet toys from heather roots in Lourosa, Oliveira do Hospital. The brand works to keep alive the traditional craft of processing heather root, a practice local artisans pioneered, and keeps its use of machinery to a minimum to reduce its ecological footprint.
Every toy is made from 100% natural heather roots, with no animal-derived ingredients, additives or chemicals. They're vegan, odourless and fat-free. Heather wood is very hard, so the toys are durable and last a long time. As well as keeping pets entertained, they help reduce stress and anxiety. They also clean teeth and strengthen gums, prevent tartar build-up and bad breath, and support digestive health through natural fibres and minerals.
The toys suit dogs and puppies of various sizes, as well as rabbits, hamsters, degus, squirrels and birds. Sizes run from XXS to L, to fit different breeds and chewing needs.
