Pure Portugal

Pure Portugal is a rural property listing platform with over 20 years behind it, connecting buyers with private sellers of quintas, smallholdings, ruins and off-grid land across Portugal, for people looking for a sustainable, nature-rich way of living.

Pure Portugal lists rural property, and only rural property, across all 18 districts of mainland Portugal and the Azores. It was founded over 20 years ago and runs as a workers' cooperative. The people behind it have relocated to the Portuguese countryside themselves and lived sustainably there.
The listings are a selected range rather than everything on the market: building plots, ruins, renovation projects, quintas, smallholdings, off-grid land, natural builds and nature-connected homes. They suit a wide variety of plans, from permaculture design and agroforestry to off-grid living and eco-renovation, and the platform is a resource for anyone dreaming of growing their own food.
It's not an estate agency and it takes no part in sales negotiations. What it does is connect private sellers with prospective buyers, and the service is personal and community-focused. A services directory sits alongside the listings to support buyers at every stage of relocating and buying.
For anyone who wants to visit Portugal before committing, a sister site, Pure Portugal Holidays & Rentals, offers short and long-term rural accommodation: farm stays, rustic cottages and off-grid retreats. Buyers who complete a purchase through the platform receive a small planting gift to start them off.
Our Goal
Pure Portugal wants to connect people looking for a simpler, nature-connected life with the rural properties it selects across Portugal, supporting sustainable living, smallholding and off-grid projects.
Our Wishes
Pure Portugal welcomes private sellers who want to list rural properties, and wants to grow its community of people committed to sustainable rural living in Portugal.
