Quinta do Sampayo
A family-owned wine estate in Cartaxo, in the Tejo region, with roots going back to 1718. On more than 90 hectares, Quinta do Sampayo combines regenerative viticulture, organic olive oil production and wine tourism.
Quinta do Sampayo makes wine and organic olive oil on more than 90 hectares in Vale da Pinta, Cartaxo, less than an hour from Lisbon. The estate sits in the Tejo wine region and has more than 300 years of history. It calls its wines "conscious wines" and makes them with minimal intervention, to let the terroir express itself.
Grupo Agroseber owns the estate. Ana Filipa Macedo now leads it. She took over management to honour her father's legacy and has turned Quinta do Sampayo into a life project centred on sustainability.
The estate has been investing in more environmentally responsible practices. On the land, that means regenerative agricultural techniques to restore soil health. In production, it means lighter glass bottles that reduce the carbon footprint. The winery was built in the second half of the 1990s. It respects the traditional winemaking process and supports the estate's wider sustainability goals.
Visitors can join tastings, estate visits and gastronomic experiences paired with wine ("Na Adega com o Chef"). They're designed to connect visitors with the land, the winery and the people behind the products.
A team the estate calls its daily "orchestra" works the land together. They want to make wines and olive oils full of flavour and quality, and to build lasting connections with visitors and the surrounding Ribatejo community.
Our Goal
Quinta do Sampayo wants to make conscious, terroir-driven wines and organic olive oils, regenerate the soil of its historic estate, and share that work with visitors through wine tourism.
