SerVivo is a venue and co-living community located in a valley within the Natural Park of Arrábida, approximately 40 km south of Lisbon near Palmela, Portugal. Founded as a cooperative (Cooperativa SVDH), its roots trace back to 2016 when co-founders Carlos and Margarida first rented the space with a vision of creating a place for exchange and community. The project holds space for human development through art, dance, meditation, bodywork, and a wide range of transformative practices. SerVivo brings together people who believe in living more connected, joyful, and love-filled lives. The beautiful natural setting — surrounded by the tranquil landscape of the Arrábida park — provides an ideal environment for rest, regeneration, and personal transformation. Today, SerVivo is home to a co-living team of 8 members, supported by a fluctuating group of volunteers who help maintain and improve the space. The community regularly hosts retreats, therapeutic sessions, workshops, and classes including Contact Improvisation, Physical Theatre, Butoh, and other somatic and performative arts. Weekly events such as the Arrábida Contact Jam and Contact Improvisation classes make the space accessible to the wider region. A diverse network of teachers and facilitators offers events across the spectrum of healing, movement, and creative arts. SerVivo also provides opportunities for volunteers and ESC (European Solidarity Corps) team members to live and work on-site, contributing around seven hours per day to the project in exchange for community life experience. The space serves as a meeting point for those seeking connection with body, creativity, nature, and community — welcoming both local participants and visitors from across Europe and beyond.
