Silveira Tech Re_generation Village

Silveira Tech Re_generation Village is an ambitious project regenerating 230 hectares of mountain forest and reviving abandoned villages in Serra da Lousã, central Portugal. Blending technology and innovation with regenerative values, the project aims to create a global community where people connect around ecological restoration, remote work and togetherness. The masterplan includes eco-houses for long-term stays, a coworking space for remote workers and digital nomads, and a regenerative centre dedicated to ecological education and agroforestry. Architecture for the village is guided by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, honouring traditional building techniques while embracing sustainable innovation. The project began with the construction of an off-grid Basecamp — a multifunctional structure serving as office, workshop, tool shed and events space — laying the groundwork for the wider regenerative masterplan. Early restoration efforts have focused on rebuilding wildlife ponds, reshaping fire-damaged hillsides, and establishing a partner network of public and private stakeholders committed to bioregional change. The initiative also welcomes entrepreneurs, digital nomads, scientists and volunteers to participate in a temporary community rooted in the land. Supported by a growing base of patrons, Silveira Tech positions itself as a living prototype for regenerative rural life, demonstrating how technology, community and ecological restoration can work together. The project regularly hosts open days and public events, inviting the wider community to witness and take part in the ongoing transformation of the Serra da Lousã landscape.
