Studio Detelic

Studio Detelic is a family-run architecture practice in Lagos, Algarve. Architect Goran Detelic founded it in 1996 and has worked in the region for more than two decades. His son Ino Detelic, an architect trained at the University of Coimbra, joined the practice in 2012. The team designs and carries out projects for a wide range of building types: - single-family houses - multi-family apartment buildings - restaurants and cafés - elderly care residences - hotels and local accommodation - shops and warehouses - leisure areas, pools and gardens - urban developments and land subdivisions It takes on both new construction and the renovation or retrofitting of existing buildings. The work is always adapted to the Algarve's climate, environment and construction techniques, whether traditional or contemporary. The studio also handles technical management, including expert reports, evaluations and legalisations, so that each project moves forward without unforeseen setbacks. It describes quality, sustainability and accessibility as the foundations of its design, with the aim of comfortable, functional spaces that anticipate how clients' expectations change. Its projects include the Lar Rainha D. Leonor care home in Lagos, and a new apartment and retail building on the site of the former “Adega” in Lagos, completed in 2021. Clients range from private individuals to major construction and engineering firms, as well as public bodies such as the Portuguese Government. Visitors can come to the office in Lagos for in-person consultations on new projects, budgets and technical requests.
