Studio Detelic

Studio Detelic is an established architecture practice located in Lagos, in the Algarve region of Portugal. Founded in 1996 by architect Goran Detelic, the studio has built a strong reputation over more than two decades of work in the region. Since 2012, Goran's son Ino Detelic, an architect trained at the University of Coimbra, has joined the practice, bringing a new generation of design thinking to the family-run studio. The team develops and executes architecture projects across a wide range of typologies, including single-family houses, multi-family apartment buildings, restaurants and cafés, elderly care residences, hotels and local accommodation, shops, warehouses, leisure areas, pools and gardens, as well as urban developments and land subdivisions. Their work spans both new construction and renovation or retrofitting of existing buildings, always adapted to the Algarve's climate, environment and construction techniques, whether traditional or contemporary. Beyond design, Studio Detelic offers technical management services such as expert reports, evaluations and legalisations, ensuring that each project moves forward without unforeseen setbacks. Quality, sustainability and accessibility are described as fundamental pillars of their design approach, aiming to create comfortable, functional spaces that anticipate the evolving expectations of clients. Among the studio's notable projects are the Lar Rainha D. Leonor care home in Lagos and a new apartment and retail building built on the site of the former 'Adega' in Lagos, completed in 2021. Clients range from private individuals to major construction and engineering firms, as well as public entities such as the Portuguese Government. The studio welcomes visitors to its office in Lagos for in-person consultations on new projects, budgets and technical requests.
