Christian Neuner Architecture

An architecture studio in Lagos, Portugal, designing ecological, bioclimatic and health-conscious buildings for private and commercial clients.
Christian Neuner Architecture designs ecological and bio-habitable buildings using bioclimatic technologies, passive solar design, solar thermal energy and photovoltaics. The studio is based in Lagos and led by architect Christian Neuner, with a multidisciplinary network that reaches Lisbon and São Paulo, Brazil. The aim is healthy, sustainable buildings that fit their surroundings.
For private clients, the studio designs homes around good air quality, thermal and acoustic comfort, and a balance of natural and artificial light, with healthy, happy households in mind. For businesses, it designs workplaces meant to support employees' wellbeing and productivity. Here it follows the example set in workplace design by companies such as Samsung, Google, Facebook and Apple.
The studio puts strong weight on healthy, non-toxic natural materials, such as adobe brick, clay plaster and natural paints. It also takes account of natural radiation, electromagnetic exposure and other environmental risk factors. Drawing on environmental psychology, the team shapes each space to its intended function and to the client's own taste.
Since 2011, the studio has used Building Information Modelling (BIM) to plan and carry out construction and interior design projects, both small and large. Reaching Energy Efficiency Class A+ is a core commitment, and the team works to convince every client that it matters for a sustainable future. With over 22 years of professional experience, the studio offers renovation and new-build work across the Lisbon, Cascais and Algarve regions.
Our Goal
To design healthy, ecological and bioclimatic homes and workplaces in the Algarve, combining passive solar strategies, non-toxic natural materials and modern building techniques so that people can live and work in sustainable spaces.
Our Wishes
The studio is looking for clients and partners who want to build or renovate with healthy, low-impact materials and energy-efficient design.
