Vida em Transição is a family-run eco-project nestled in the village of Esculca, Serra do Açor, central Portugal, dedicated to conscious living, personal growth, and sustainable rural life. The project offers accommodation in a Hobbit House, dedicated personal development programmes, and handmade artisan products.

Vida em Transição is a family eco-project based in Esculca, a small village in the Serra do Açor, central Portugal. Founded by Teresa Leite and Ricardo Gonçalves, a couple originally from Porto, the project was born out of a deep desire for personal transformation, a growing sensitivity to the state of the world, and the arrival of their first child. Trading city life for the countryside, they built a home and life rooted in nature, conscious living, and continuous self-development, connected to the Awakened Life Project (Projecto Vida Desperta). The family — Teresa, Ricardo, and their two children Miguel and Clara — runs the project from Lugar do Ribeiro, offering a range of services and experiences to visitors and participants. Their Hobbit House provides unique rural accommodation for those wishing to explore the surrounding region, enjoy the natural beauty of the valley, or simply rest in the tranquillity of nature. Beyond hospitality, Vida em Transição offers dedicated personal development programmes designed and guided by the family, aimed at supporting others through their own transitions and transformations. The project also creates handmade artisan products, including meditation cushions, wooden crafts, and natural blends, reflecting their belief in the power of creativity and mindful making. A 'Visionário' (Visionary) programme invites people to come and work alongside the family, contributing to the project while learning and growing personally. This participatory model reflects the project's broader mission: to demonstrate that a meaningful, nature-connected life is possible and to encourage other families not to give up on their dreams. Vida em Transição stands as a living example of intentional rural living, personal resilience, and community-inspired sustainability in the heart of Portugal.

Our Goal
