Mental Health & Nature Connection

A central thread in wellbeing: burnout retreats like Naturalmente near Alte, forest sanctuaries like Awakeland in the Serra de Monchique, and co-living communities like Noma Village. Reconnecting, one quiet day at a time.

Mental health and nature connection in Portugal

People arrive at these places for different reasons, including recovery from work rather than illness. Portugal has become a destination for that kind of pause, helped by cheap distance from northern European cities and by landscape that is genuinely quiet in the interior.

Vida Pura runs a solar-powered retreat near Odeceixe. The Hide hosts co-living in a valley near Oleiros. Servivo works inside the Arrábida natural park, Folha Verde has built a whole community in the Serra do Açor, and Noma Village does the version aimed at people who still have to work in the mornings.

None of this is clinical care, and the good ones say so plainly. Related focuses: holistic healing, physical movement and community health; retreats with fixed dates are on our events calendar.
