CATCH Permaculture

CATCH — Centro de Arte, Tecnologia e Criatividade Humana — is a small family-run project based in Porto Brandão, Portugal, dedicated to developing community and natural environment through art, education, technology and permaculture. Its core values focus on preserving and honoring the social, ecological and cultural heritage of the local area, with a vision of a harmonious relationship between landscape, animals and people. Through its farm, known as Quinta Linda, CATCH implements permaculture structures to sustainably harvest food while preserving bio- and agro-diversity. The farm offers weekly organic vegetable box subscriptions, complete with recipe cards, health tips, and add-ons such as oyster mushrooms grown by partner producers. Beyond food production, CATCH runs permaculture workshops, agroforestry sessions, and seasonal harvest celebrations that bring together local families, volunteers and partner organizations. The project's key priorities include preserving biodiversity, developing land sustainably, diversifying fauna and flora, and reviving local cultural heritage through creative initiatives. CATCH collaborates closely with community partners such as Lifeshaker, Up Farming, and others on educational events exploring holistic urban agriculture, vertical farming, composting and community gardening. CATCH also runs several ongoing initiatives beyond the farm, including projects related to eco-retreats, regenerative community farming, and heritage/animal projects such as work with the Lusitano horse. The project positions itself as a hub for community-led regeneration — inviting locals and visitors alike to learn, grow, and celebrate together while restoring the natural environment of the region.
