Gaia Colos

Gaia Colos opened on 21 March 2023 in Colos, a parish in Odemira, Alentejo. It operates as a food hub, café and shop, set up next to the Colmeia warehouse and the Faíscas Voadoras workshops, both run by the same parent organisation, Cooperativa Integral da Terra. The space is based at Quinta do Coito Grande and is run by Jette and Tara, who can be reached at +351 938 454 074. Opening hours are listed as Tuesday to Thursday, 09:30 to 16:00. Orders can also be placed through Colmeia's online shop, which links producers across the network to customers in the wider area. Gaia Colos is part of the Colmeia network, a self-financed local economy initiative spanning Lagos, Vila do Bispo, Monchique, Aljezur and Odemira. The network connects small producers and makers, among them Temperos da Argas, Safras Nómadas, Ruka Crafts and Queens Redemption, under a shared structure for selling and distributing local goods. A 2024 social media post mentioned that the project was looking for new management to continue its work, pointing to an ongoing need for people to take the day-to-day running forward.
