Lógica Bio Coop

Lógica Bio Coop is a cooperative based near Fundão and Idanha-a-Nova, Castelo Branco district, connecting people, farms and territories around organic food and local economy. It grew out of a search for a collaborative way to sustain rural life in central Portugal.

Lógica Bio Coop is a cooperative in the making, based in Ladoeiro, Idanha-a-Nova, in the Castelo Branco district. It connects people, projects and territories across the rural interior of Portugal, working from a logistics centre known as the Centro Logístico Agroalimentar do Ladoeiro. The cooperative started with organic food and local markets, linking producers directly with consumers. It has since grown into something wider: a network of mutual support intended to nurture new ideas and bring people back to a simpler, more grounded way of living in the countryside. Members describe joining as a personal and collective commitment. Szandra Benko speaks of finding an alternative, collaborative way of making rural life possible. Samuel Freire, a founding member, sees the cooperative model as a way for civil society to take back control of its future. Alexandre Espírito Santo highlights its potential to create real value and share knowledge with the communities it serves. Irina Simões frames her involvement as a step towards a fairer, more inclusive future built on cooperation. Beyond food, Lógica Bio Coop states ambitions that go further: decent housing, living culture, concrete solidarity and services that care for people. Decisions are meant to be shared and horizontal, reflecting a belief that a just and sustainable future is built collectively rather than alone. The project is registered as a CRL (cooperativa de responsabilidade limitada) and operates out of Fundão and Idanha-a-Nova in the Beira Interior region.

Our Goal
