Projeto A Nossa Terra

Projeto A Nossa Terra is a multi-generational family project in the Leiria/Pombal/Figueira da Foz region of Portugal, practicing regenerative, no-dig, chemical-free agriculture and agroforestry, selling fresh produce at weekly markets and sharing knowledge through courses and workshops.

Projeto A Nossa Terra is a family-run regenerative farming and agroforestry initiative based in the Pombal, Leiria and Figueira da Foz region of Portugal. Spanning more than four generations of connection to the land, the family combines traditional farming wisdom inherited from their great-grandparents, who cultivated with what nature offered, with modern regenerative science, practicing no-dig, chemical-free cultivation that improves soil health year after year. The project sells fresh, seasonal vegetables, herbs, and greens at weekly municipal markets in Leiria and Figueira da Foz, as well as through distribution in Pombal, allowing customers to order online and pick up locally. This model reduces plastic packaging and supports authentic, honestly grown food over industrial alternatives. Beyond fresh produce, an online shop offers merchandise, tools, books, and their own olive oil, shipped nationwide or available for pickup at the markets. Education is central to their mission. They offer courses such as 'Da Permacultura à Agricultura Sintrópica' (From Permaculture to Syntropic Agriculture), open days, and hands-on workshops, and regularly give talks in schools, universities, and festivals about regenerative agriculture. Their first agroforestry implementation, carefully planned plant by plant using maps and measuring tape, is documented publicly as a learning resource for others wanting to replicate their methods. The project also engages its community through donations and local impact initiatives and participates in wider movements mapping agroforestry practitioners across Portugal. With an active presence on social media, the family documents daily life on the land, sharing lessons learned directly from working with nature. Customer testimonials highlight the freshness, quality, and authenticity of the produce, describing the experience as a refreshing alternative to industrial food systems — an embodiment of family-led, values-driven farming that produces not just food, but health and purpose.

Our Goal

To grow fresh, chemical-free food through regenerative agriculture and agroforestry, while sharing knowledge that helps others learn to work with nature rather than against it.

Our Wishes

The project welcomes people interested in learning regenerative farming methods through its courses and workshops, and invites customers to support local, honest food by ordering weekly produce.
