Hoooked turns waste from the fashion industry into yarn that is 100% recycled. The company behind the brand, Hoooked Portugal, was founded in 2013 and is based in Zibreira, Torres Novas, in the Santarém district. One of its best-known products is *Zpagetti*, a chunky textile yarn made from cotton jersey off-cuts. The range also includes chunky recycled cottons, silky plant-based fibres and other textures for crochet, knitting and macramé. Free beginner patterns and step-by-step tutorials make it easier for new crafters to get started, and they're meant to encourage people to make things rather than buy them. The company takes textile waste at the source and reprocesses it into crafting materials, which directly reduces the environmental impact of fast fashion. Its starting point is that good design and environmental responsibility can go together. It also supports a global community of makers who want to work responsibly. Production stays in Portugal.
